Step into a calm, supportive space designed exclusively for women, where movement meets mindfulness and strength meets stillness. Wellness Within is a holistic fitness class that nurtures both body and mind, helping you reconnect with yourself from the inside out.
Each session blends strength training, mobility work, and deep stretching to improve muscle tone, joint health, posture, and overall physical resilience. Whether you’re building strength or releasing tension, every movement is intentional and accessible for all levels.
We then transition into a restorative phase of guided meditation, allowing you to slow down, breathe deeply, and mentally reset. These sessions are designed to reduce stress, improve clarity, and create a sense of inner balance.
A unique element of this class is sound bath meditation, where soothing vibrations from instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, and gongs are used to promote deep relaxation. The gentle frequencies can help:
Calm the nervous system
Reduce anxiety and stress
Improve sleep quality
Enhance emotional well-being
Support mental clarity and focus
Who sound bath meditation may not be suitable for:
While generally safe and gentle, sound therapy may not be recommended for individuals who:
Are in the first trimester of pregnancy
Have epilepsy or are prone to seizures
Use certain hearing aids or have sound sensitivity conditions
Have severe mental health conditions where sound stimulation may be overwhelming
Have metal implants (in some cases, depending on medical advice)
If you’re unsure, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional before attending.
Wellness Within is more than just a class — it’s a space to strengthen your body, soften your mind, and reconnect with your inner calm, surrounded by a community of women on the same journey.
Welcome to Wellness Within & Menofit with Shelley, a programme based around fitness & support for women entering into peri/menopause or simply looking to reconnect with their mind and body again.
My journey began in 2010 when I was 33. I came off my contraceptive pill to start a family only to encounter numerous problems. My body completely changed almost overnight. My periods became sporadic, I had urinary infection after urinary infection, my libido dropped, my confidence hit an all time low & I became ill every month around my monthly cycle. I had visit after visit to the family planning clinic & doctors where I was constantly being told all was in my head. But I knew my own body & that something wasn't right. Myself & my husband ended up having IVF which is where I discovered I had a very low ovarian reserve & things started to make sense a little more. (I did go on to have my little miracle baby boy)
Unfortunately like many women out there I was not educated enough about premature, peri or menopause so never recognised any of these symptoms as being anything related to the menopause. Unfortunately our Doctors are also not educated enough either. I'm now 46 and have been on HRT since October 2019 where all my symptoms are now manageable & I feel a lot more like me again.

RELAXATION/MEDIATATION & BREATHING METHODS
Symptoms can creep up on you over a period of time or hit you in one big hit. The most common symptoms are Irregular Periods - They may become irregular, really light or heavy to the point of flooding. Fatigue - Many women complain of feeling more tired than usual. Mood Swings - these can feel alot more extreme to what you would usually feel during your periods. Brain Fog/Memory Loss - How many of us women just put this down to 'going mad'? Do you find yourself always saying "God I can't remember anything these days" or walking into a room & totally forgetting what you went in for. Weight Gain - yoyo dieting finally catches up, nothing seems to be shifting the weight, especially around the mid-riff. Low Mood/Lack of Confidence - You suddenly have gone from the soul of the party to not wanting to leave the house. These are just a few I would say you would never really put down to a change in hormones.
Menopause is when you have not had a period/bleed for 12 months - The day after 12 months you are then Post Menopause for life!
Menopause is not a disease, it's simply a transition we all go through. Stand tall, Own it & Together we can sort it!
